OHIP - WSIB - Car Insurance: I am not able to process claims for workplace injuries (through WSIB), car accident injuries (through car insurance), or claims to OHIP. You are welcome to contact me directly to inquire further and I am happy to assist you in connecting with another physiotherapist or clinic.

CURRENT PATIENTS : If you are a current patient (seen in the previous 3 months) but are dealing with a new issue please book a Re-Assessment appointment. This will give us enough time to adequately assess and treat the new issue.

Cancellation Policy: When a physiotherapy appointment is booked, it is scheduled and reserved just for you. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide 24 hours notice. Scheduled appointments that are missed, or have not provided 24 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee equal to the amount of the cancelled/missed appointment.

Physiotherapy is a rehabilitation science pertaining to the movement and function of the body. Physiotherapy treatment will help those individuals who experience difficulty or limitations with movement, strength, and pain. In addition, it is further helpful for individuals who have sustained injuries, who are waiting for or who have undergone surgery, or are experiencing a loss of movement. Physiotherapy is also helpful for those without pain but rather have goals to improve strength, mobility, posture, balance, endurance, as well as to prevent or to prepare for a surgical procedure.

Denise completed a Bachelor of Health Science degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2007; and continued on with her education to complete a Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in 2009. She also had the opportunity in 2009 to complete further training in Kaimuki, Hawaii, providing physiotherapy services to patients, as well as assisting with running an injury prevention program for female youth soccer athletes.

Denise is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. She has a keen interest in continuing to further her education, and has completed multiple post-graduate courses. She has attained certificates in the McKenzie Method (Part A), Muscle Energy Techniques from Alternative Healthcare Solutions, and Strain-Counterstrain from the Connecticut School of Integrated Manual Therapy. She has specialized further with courses specific to evidence-based assessment and treatment for the spine, sacroiliac joint dysfunctions, breast cancer rehabilitation, as well as sport specific activities such as running, golf, and figure skating.

Denise is passionate about helping her patients recover from their injury, as well as assisting in injury prevention. She works with her patients providing treatment which includes education regarding injury and recovery, as well as manual therapy, and specifically tailored active exercise. Denise assists her patients to achieve their goals, and return to their sports, hobbies and activities.

Denise enjoys spending her time volunteering on the medical team at various Skate Canada events including Skate Canada International, and the Canadian and World Figure Skating Championships. As well, she can also be found keeping active with sports such as skiing, mountain biking, roller blading, kayaking, pilates and yoga.
